Dr. Ben Lockhart is a plant virologist in the University of Minnesota's Department of Plant Pathology.
Dr. Lockhart was recognized him in 2006 for his distinguished contributions to plant pathology by the American Phytopathological Society. He has consulted around the world, providing education and conducting research related to plant virology and agriculture.
In 2007, the American Hosta Society began sponsoring a hosta virus research program at the University of Minnesota, which is run by Dr. Lockhart. He discovered Hosta Virus X (HVX), and will give us an update on his research.
